Jamaica e-invoicing status for businesses
Is electronic invoicing to TAJ mandatory in Jamaica? Not at the time of writing.
As far as the public sources show, Jamaica has no adopted mandate to send invoices to Tax Administration Jamaica electronically. In March 2026 the Opposition proposed an e-invoicing system during the budget debate, and the government said such a system needs extensive digital infrastructure and did not commit to a timeline. Today businesses keep their own invoices and file GCT returns with TAJ as usual.
- No adopted e-invoicing mandate or timeline was found in official sources.
- The idea was proposed in the 2026/27 budget debate.
- Computer-generated tax invoices are already accepted.
